It's hard to know from watching if this movie was intended to be funny, or if that's just the way it's aged. If you're looking for a serious movie, this isn't it, if you want something to laugh at, look no further.
Humm, that sounded harsh, I did enjoy it.

Subject: It's a horror/comedy !
Concert pianist gets into a taxi car wreck and the only part of his body that are damaged are his hands ! A little talky at times but still more fun to watch than most of the movies today. And it has a very cool opening sequence.

Subject: Surprisingly good
I was pleasantly surprised after having watched this movie. Quite "talky" at times with very colorful dialog - especially from the detective and the doctor, this movie moves along nicely. Being almost half a century old it´s not surprising the script seems a bit "simple" in some places, especially things dealing with the medical aspects of the plot. I think most of the actors did an ok job as well as the director/write.
All things considered it definately worth a watch - especially since it´s in free :-)

Subject: Meh
This film noir Frankenstein story features sub-par wooden acting, poor directing and stilted, tiresome dialog. It moralizes throughout, but closes with a wishy-washy moral statement. Essentially, 'we ventured in god's domain, but medicine must press at it limits'. Yeesh! What made it so disappointing for me was the first scene was great: A shot of a city at night. A man walks down a lonely street. Suddenly, a car speeds towards him. He runs and is gunned down. The scene closes with a shot of his hands gripping a lamp post. I'd like to see David Cronenberg make a movie based on the idea.

Sally Kellerman has a bit part as a murder victim.

I downloaded the Divx file. The video is good, but the high end of the audio is lost to noise.

I remember this movie from decades ago. A piano player has a really bad hands on experience. More funny than frightening. Still, a true Classic, worth a viewing.
